Blueprint

How We Work

Our methodology, editorial standards, use of AI, and disclosure commitments

What Blueprint Is

Blueprint for a Better Britain is an independent, non-partisan platform focused on the implementation gap in British policy. We do not produce ideology. We produce analysis, synthesis, and sustained pressure for reforms that have evidence and cross-spectrum consensus behind them.

Blueprint was founded in March 2026 by Adam Knight — a former Goldman Sachs MD, co-founder of Social and Sustainable Capital, Chairman of BeZero Carbon, and active angel investor across 50+ companies.

Our Research Methodology

Blueprint uses a multi-model AI research framework to produce its analysis. This is not a shortcut. It is a deliberate methodology designed to be more rigorous than single-author or single-model work:

The Three-Phase Process

Phase 1 — Independent drafting. Three AI models (GPT, Claude, and Gemini) each independently research the same question and produce their own analysis. They do not see each other's work.

Phase 2 — Cross-critique. Each model reads the other two papers and writes a structured critique: where do they agree, where do they disagree, what errors or gaps exist in the other models' data or methodology.

Phase 3 — Blind reconciliation. A fourth model reads all six documents — three papers and three critiques — and produces a single synthesis that resolves disputes using the strongest analysis and most reliable data from each.

This process is modelled on academic peer review. It is faster (hours rather than months) but retains the core discipline: independent analysis, adversarial critique, and reconciliation. In practice, the cross-critique phase catches real errors — outdated statistics, miscalculated conversions, unsupported claims — that any single model would miss.

Source Standards

Every factual claim in Blueprint's published work must meet the following standards:

Treatment of Uncertainty

Not all claims carry equal confidence. Blueprint uses a three-tier system:

Confidence Tiers

High confidence — supported by multiple independent sources, official statistics, or established academic consensus. Example: "UK industrial electricity prices are among the highest in the developed world."

Medium confidence — supported by credible analysis but involves modelling assumptions, projections, or extrapolations. Example: "Closing the electricity price gap could generate £14-16 billion in annual GDP."

Contested / exploratory — represents Blueprint's synthesis of available evidence where experts disagree or where the evidence base is thin. Example: specific fiscal projections beyond 5 years.

Use of AI

Blueprint uses AI extensively in its research, content generation, and monitoring operations. We are transparent about this because we believe it is a strength, not a weakness:

We do not claim that AI-generated analysis is equivalent to expert human analysis on every dimension. We do claim that the multi-model methodology produces work that is more rigorous than most single-author policy commentary, and that the barrier to entry for serious policy work has collapsed in ways that are democratically significant.

Update Policy

Blueprint's published papers are living documents. When new data is released, when errors are identified, or when the evidence base shifts materially, we update. Significant updates are noted in the text with a date stamp. The daily briefing monitors for data releases that affect Blueprint's eight headline KPIs.

Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Blueprint for a Better Britain is self-funded by Adam Knight. It receives no funding from any political party, government body, think tank, corporation, or trade association.

In the interests of transparency:

Where Blueprint's analysis touches areas where these interests could create a perception of bias, we note the potential conflict explicitly.
